UGC, SIDE HUSTLE, SMALL BIZ OWNER, HYBRID CAREER,
I remember sitting in my car, crying, after a DoorDash delivery gone wrong, my business falling apart, and thinking: there has to be another way.
Hey! I’m Lora, an ad-winning UGC creator AND entrepreneur.
I make content for brands I love, set my own schedule, all while building something bigger on the side. With no boss or 9-5 in sight. UGC work didn't just become my side hustle. It became the financial foundation that changed my life.

I had a failing business and needed income, fast ✦
In my twenties and early thirties, I built a “successful” 5-figure business. On the outside, I was winning. A well established cleaning service with a large client-base, a team of 10 employees - fully operational.
On the inside? I was miserable. Every morning started with my phone buzzing and a problem to fix…before I got out of bed.
During the pandemic, I laid off my team, pivoted to a CPG product based business, and tried to outrun the exhaustion.
Instead, I watched it fall apart in slow-mo…like a freight train accident I could see coming, that I couldn’t stop. I burned through my savings. Burned through debt, too. And worst of all? I burned through my nervous system capacity.
A mentor sat me down during those “fix-it” years and told me something I’ve never forgotten…
“If you’re not supporting yourself first as a business owner, then you’re working from a place of desperation, instead of joy. And people can feel that.”
Reality set in.
I needed outside income.
Beyond the business.
But I was terrified to leave entrepreneurship, even for a moment. I applied for probably a hundred remote jobs over the span of 6 months. A few interviews, no offers. Meanwhile, money was running out. I even drove Door Dash for about a month until a shirtless man tried to lure me into his home during a delivery. I closed the app. Got into my car. Never opened it again.
there had to be another way…
THERE WAS.
And that’s where my UGC journey began…
I’d been saving Instagram Reels in a folder I called “Money Making” half hopeful, half desperate. One day I combed through it. There it was, over and over: people making content for brands.
But not in the general “social media manager” or “influencer” sense. So many of my saved reels were people talking about what landing brand deals looked like:
✅ No posting on your channels.
✅ On your terms.
✅ From the comfort of your own home.
UGC work might just be what you’re looking for ✦
I discovered a number of platforms that connect creators with brands looking for this exact kind of content. Right away, my first project felt like a DREAM. I was mind blown that it was so easy to get paid for this work. As a small business owner, I already knew how to manage projects, communicate with clients, and create.
Turns out, running a small business teaches you a lot about content, execution, and getting things done. But you KNOW this. You have an entire toolkit of skills that might be undervalued within the average 9-5 workplace. And, if you’re like me, and need a second job to pay the bills, but also need to run and grow your business.
“Today UGC work has actually paid for my bankruptcy filing fees…after defaulting on a business loan. But, this isn’t the end - it’s just the beginning.”
let that sink in…
While I was navigating the hardest financial season of my life, content creation for brands was covering bills, buying me breathing room, and keeping my bigger dreams alive.
If I can do it, you can too!
I teach business owners, aspiring business owners, artists, freelancers {those in career transitions} how to close their income gap with UGC work, while building something bigger on the side.
